How do I know that Love Volunteers and their partners are credible and legitimate?
Love Volunteers has been successfully linking selfless people just like you to meaningful projects in developing countries since 2011. We are very proud of our heritage, our accomplishments and the wonderful reputation that we have built through tireless dedication to supporting meaningful and sustainable community benefit projects around the world. However, we still occasionally get asked if we are 'real', 'credible', or 'legitimate', so we wanted to provide some guidance for those of you who perhaps do not yet know who we are and what we do, so that you can do some of your own independent research before making the commitment to become a Love Volunteer.
Perhaps the most effective way to check our integrity and see that we are a very 'real' organisation is to view the conversation history (and even join in) on our
Facebook Group Page where Love Volunteers (past, present and future) are able to connect with one another, chat about their experiences, ask questions or simply seek first-hand advise from a peer. This is great place to start and we strongly advise all potential volunteers to get involved with this forum right from the outset.
You might also find it useful to check websites such as
GoAbroad,
GoOverseas,
Volunteer World (among dozens of others) where you have an independent organisation presenting testimonials and program descriptions on our behalf.
We also suggest doing a simple Google search. This will provide hundreds of links, from discussions about our projects to reviews from past volunteers, external news articles, photos journals, video dairies and much more! The vast majority of which are completely independent of Love Volunteers (ie. we did not pay to have them created - in fact most have been created by past volunteers who wish to tell people about the amazing experience they had) so you can research as much or as little as you prefer.
By booking your volunteer trip abroad through Love Volunteers you are assured of the integrity of our local partner network. We are proud of the relationships we have with our trusted partners and are continually checking and supporting the local organisations to ensure they meet our exacting standards for hosting international volunteers and for providing worthwhile projects that are not only beneficial to the local people but are sustainable and meaningful for our volunteers.
We hope this article helps to put your mind at rest but understand and commend your caution and desire to research before you travel. This is big decision and one that should not be taken lightly!
All the best for the rest of your planning and decision making and we'll be here to help should you need anything
